I have started the route finally. I found a DEM of the Pokey region and am using it for the area I will represent. I am torn on how to do the route location wise, I can use the real area I am from or have also thought of just using various names from the state that are amusing and that I like.

Dison Yard is the starting point for me. The mainline is NS/CSX with trackage rights. I raised this area from a river bottom and also elevated the town across as well. Looking to bridge over to the other side because if not you would be forced down the main a good bit before doing a reverse move to pass the switch to head that way.

I am working toward a early spring feel because you can do snow, rain and sun that time of year as well.

I’ve not joined the track in the yard as what I have done is very rough. Not sure which was to go and what works best.

I also need to build some form of a turn around, wye or turntable I am open to either one.

Also not fully set on what is textured now and open to suggestions and feedback.

Thanks for all comments and suggestions. This is my very first attempt that this and I am sure with your aid it will only get better.

The straighten track tool is your friend, as is the rotate texture tool.

Yeah, learning that. I tore all this out and am starting the yard somewhere else on the map.

With textures hold either [ or ] to auto rotate the textures. It took me a while to find out that short cut when I started.

On the keyboard holding down the [ or the ] causes the textures to be rotated as you apply them.

Cheers,

On the bank texture I layed it as more of aback ground with the trees as filler, but I'll go back to work on it.

The rotation keeps it from tiling. Just keep it spinning while you texture. Unless you are doing something like a tilled field.

Both. Your grades are crazy looking, deffinately more than 3%.
Your yard needs tweaking, your body shouldn't meet the ladder at that tight of an angle. If your trying to fit a yard into an area like this, do what I call "Pulling a Clinchfield" by building the yard right off the main, and having the yard occupy the area closest to the river, while your main stays safe on the inside. Even though your big on coal, and other commodities, your yard shouldn't be THAT big. If you need help, IM me at xthorsThammerX, or just PM me. Wink
