I railfanned the real W&A Sub once last year when we visited friends near Acworth.
Actually, the W&A Subdivision south of Cartersville that leads to the northwestern part of the Atlanta Terminal Subdivision is the busiest section, because the W&A Sub and Etowah Sub meet just north of downtown Cartersville. Several northbound trains bypass the W&A and go up the Etowah Sub instead. However, most trains bound for Nashville will go through Chattanooga.

Oh, ok. I had wondered how busy that line was when we visited Cartersville. Either way, I would gladly go back. Thanks for the info!

Whenever I try to railfan the W&A I end up sitting in downtown Marietta staring at the sun reflecting off the railhead for three hours before finally a gevoSPAM comes by. Well ok not true that was only once, but still its pretty dead compared to how I heard it used to be, ive always seemed to have better luck with the NS between Bolton and Austell as far as getting lots of trains. Emersons still a great spot though the bridge is great and its awesome seeing a train go through the reverse curves south of the bridge.

Lol, well that was only one of the few days that we went out while we were there. Some of the other days only yielded one or two trains, but for the most part we always found something. We chased a train through the reverse curves you were talking about at one point, but I didn't get any footage because we were trying to get ahead of it to Emerson where it was going to meet another train.

Cool shots everyone! Here is my first MSTS shot on this forum:
Amtrak 400 waiting at La Salle Il.
I uninstalled MSTS to make more hard drive room (thankfully I have a new portable hard drive to keep my videos on), so I only have a limited amount of screenshots on hand for now.

Seeing this has been quiet for a while, I'll start off with some steam:
ONRR # 1 is switching in a yard and needed the room to switch tracks.

Well, quiet (again), I reinstalled MSTS, though did not get any screenshots yet. Well, another old-er screenshot:
Amtrak FL9 # 486 is waiting for a signal on the LSRC (Don't ask why it's in IL...).
