Title: "NS Reading Line 2.0" and "Reading & Northern" non-DLS content locations
Post by: Roon3808 on September 10, 2007, 09:35:30 PM
Everything from http://www.virtuallandscaping.net/mstsg/mstsgd.htm?trainz,1
 (http://www.virtuallandscaping.net/mstsg/mstsgd.htm?trainz,1) (This includes about 98% of track used in the R&N)

Bridges, tracks for the Reading Line route, "other stuff":
http://www.trainzpedro.cz/ (http://www.trainzpedro.cz/)
under the "Rails" heading (switch the menu to English).

and...
http://trainzproroutes.com/downloads/index.php?act=view&id=489 (http://trainzproroutes.com/downloads/index.php?act=view&id=489)

Trees and foliage:

(The "Puntanen Collection")
 - or if that link to the page doesn't work, follow this:
     http://www.trainzitalia.com/index.php (http://www.trainzitalia.com/index.php)
          click on the "Free Downloads" in the box in the upper left hand corner
               click on the "Collection" category
                    click on the "Roberto Conti Collection"
                         then navigate to find any kuids you're missing (most are on the 3rd page under the "Tuntanen Collection")

More to come as i find them or people point them out.  :)

The first three are "Minifondales" or mini-backdrops from TrainzItalia (same place as the trees i assume). They are not really crucial.

The second group are two things of AngelC's which haven't reached availability on the DLS yet  :D

kuid:38408:27007 is the TripleCrown roadrailer from VMD (only used once)

and kuid:57230:28612 is a "panchina", or cool little bench, that should also be on TrainzItalia.

Roon3808, I am sorry to disturb you. I have downloaded your route Reading & Northern - Phase I and I have some problems, they are:

Unknown Location: <kuid:57230:22850>
Unknown Location: <kuid:57230:22851>

Unknown Location: <kuid2:33404:500665:2>

There is also no signals in your route, so can you help me? Thanks!

Can you give us a clue as to what track you used? I downloaded every track in sight from the link above but no joy on the route. Is it one of the cz trackpack tracks or something else?

Never mind, I found it. Took a spin. looks like a nice route. I'll play on it some more later. Cheers.

   I'm missing what I think are 3 bridges, two road & one track, just north of Port Clinton where the rivers form a T.  I downloaded from the sites listed in this thread but I can't find these items.  Can someone point me in the right direction.  Thanks.

They should be the bridges from TPR listed at the top of the thread.

Roon, me again.  Would you give me (us) a brief description of how the various consist would operate on your route.  From where do they originate and where are they going?  I realise that there are few industries so I'm assuming that the trains are mostly passing through the area.  Am I making any sense?  Thanks.

I believe it's mainly coal trains from the mines around Shamokin, Mahanoy City, and bridge traffic between NS at Mehoopany, CP at Scranton, and NS at Reading. Plus locals on the branches. Pottsville, Good Spring, New Philadelphia, Coaldale/Lansford, Temple-Hamburg. Plus regular passenger excursions from Jim Thorpe to Old Penn Haven (and a few times Bridgeport), and Port Clinton to Jim Thorpe in October. Steam locomotive 4-6-2 #425 is coming back after 11 years of inactivity. The R&N was steamless for 11 years.

I can try.

First of all, i can assure everyone that even though the R&N may tout itself as a bridge route, they do not bridge traffic from either NS or CP at the north end of their system to the same railroads at the south end of their system. Number 1; the big railroads wouldn't let them do that, and number 2; their route is so indirect and mountainous that it would be highly inefficient (and you would need to stop and run around your train at Jim Thorpe).

Anyway, here is the current R&N operations that operate over the modeled portion of the R&N as i understand them:

Reading Turn:

Mountain Job:

Jeddo Job:

LC&N/Delano/Extra crew:

The R&N also operates its own passenger excursions. Usually these are diesel powered out of Jim Thorpe, but occasionally special trains (particularly the "OCS") will be run out of Port Clinton to various parts of the system.

And of course, these schedules are subject to change (and have changed over the years).

  Sorry I haven't gotten back sooner but there are other things in life besides Trainz.  Thanks for the info.  I'll make a copy of this and refer back to it as you continue with your extensions to this route.

Also don't forget the Port Clinton-Jim Thorpe October fall foliage public excursions usually diesel since the mid-90's, but soon to be #425 again. It was supposed to be #425 this year for two weekends, but #425 wasn't ready and it was diesel.

When I go to the DLS the 2 KUID's are not found. Why? Could someone email me the files? My email is rwk9024@msn.com Oh, DLS found the two authors, but the two individual items are not found. My conclusion is that DLS or the authors somehow removed the two items from the site, thus they are not found. So, whoever has these two in their possession could you please email them to me?

I should note that the Virtual Landscaping website has managed to disappear itself (kudos to the first guy who can figure where I got that phrase), is there anywhere else I can get the required content from there?

I'm still missing these assets:

Recommendation to people: save those files now just in case that site also disappears.

 #145747 is ramsay72's and i think it was posted in the first link but was lost when the site went down.

 #127320 is yutzk's (USLW member) are apparently not posted on the DLS and they are not posted on USLW so i have no clue where to find them.

 #146087 is robertoconti19's and not on DLS and have no clue where to find these

 #57230:28612 is jango's but idk if he has a website and it's not on the DLS.

 #53261:25077:1 is egos48's not on the DLS idk if he has anything posted on 3ed party websites

The last 2 i have a hunch they are on trainzitalia but i used up my allowed 10 downloads (i somehow used 11 out of 10 downloads so ya)

I have to head off to bed now got I'm doing an all day recording session tomorrow for a Demo CD for MLC productions. starting at 8am. If while I'm working tomorrow someone could point me in the direction of acquiring these KUIDs that would be greatly appreciated.

egos48's item can be found at http://www.ilpiccolodeposito.net/. Look under Oggetti.

Hey Gentlemen, NS Reading is really an awesome route. I was in the process of making my own and dropped it all for this! Anyway I seem to be having a little issue. I took the route for a spin once with no traffic just my train. Everything went well. Now since I added some traffic, changed the time and some start up options. TRS06 does not allow me to open the route to play at all. An error pops up and doesn't allow any further interaction with the program. Is there any way that this could possibly be solved?

Good old Trainz and its random crazy errors :P. Have you tried opening it in both Surveyor and Driver? I've had some problems opening routes in Driver before after i added things.

If that doesn't work, you may want to try deleting it manually and reinstalling it. My kuid # is 115479, locate that and then find the particular folder for the Reading Line and delete it, then reinstall the route.

Hope that helps, and glad you enjoy the route.  :)

This kuid kuid2:53261:25077:1 is the only one missing from the NS Reading route. It seems to be a shrub from an Italian site but it seems to be not found. Does anyone here have it? Is it a spline or a single object? Could I replace it with a different shrub with TrainzObjectz? Also, the following objects are in the unknown category yet they show up in the route:

Does it matter if the older or newer objects are used?  They still are in the unknown category even though I downloaded them and they appear in the route. Is there a reason why more recently downloaded objects don't appear in saved copies of the route, but all appear in the original copy of NS Reading Line? Same thing with Reading and Northern full route.I'm trying to join them together between Hamburg and Reading with my own DEM to create a "super route" also with my own DEM from Lehigh Gorge to Waverly, NY.

Never mind, I found the missing object for NS Reading Line from an Italian site someone posted the link to above. I still get the errors for the other 12 objects saying only earlier version but the objects show up in the route. I assume they're the newer versions since I downloaded them. It must be a problem with TrainzObjectz not recognizing KUID2 objects but they work in Trainz.

I'm merging the NS Reading and the latest Reading and Northern full route together with my own DEM to create a super route. I will also have the route north of Glen Onoko through the Lehigh Gorge to White Haven, Dupont, Pittston, Tunkhannock, Mehoopany, and the rest of the ex-LV line to Waverly, NY operated by the new Lehigh Railway, and the Steamtown route south to Portland, PA and north to Kingsley, PA. I have the entire cities of Wilkes-Barre and Scranton on my DEM portion of the route. I don't know if I'll ever be able to share it, because of the huge filesize, and I would need to get permission from Kevin and Roon-Josh Drumm to release it or I could send it to Roon somehow and he could post it for me. But, it's going to be a while until I finish it, I finished the main between Glen Onoko and Mehoopany, I just finished all the second track on the R&N between Crestwood-Mountain Top, and Laurel Run-Dupont. To fill in all the towns with buildings, streets, other scenery is going to take me a long time, especially building Wilkes-Barre and Scranton.

I'm also missing the two KUIDs. However, they're not on the DLS and the link doesn't work anymore.

I'm also missing these:

<kuid:38408:27007> I believe these come from VMD, but a search on the forums and the download index doesn't have it there.
<kuid:57230:22850>
<kuid:57230:22851> This comes from one of the authors at Trainz Italia, but it doesn't show up on the Download Index.
<kuid:57230:28612>

<kuid:81871:23021>
<kuid:81871:23023>
<kuid:81871:23026> No clue where these are to be found.
<kuid:81871:37002>
<kuid:81871:37003>

I know that it's been awhile since somebody answered to this thread, but can somebody please help? I'm eager to drive this with no missing things!

Have only just seen this thread, if you need Kuid 81871 stuff it's on this Czech website here - http://www.fehrer-trainz.wz.cz/

Kuid:38408:27007 is the CS_Roadrailer_Std_TC off the VMD website

Kuid:57230:22850 and 22851 are on the Trainz Italia site, they are trees in the Minifondali pack called Bosco ceduo and Bosco ceduo 2

kuid:57230:28612 is in the pack called Grandi Stazioni Componibili - Accessori - it's called a panchina

Cheerz.  ex-railwayman.

Hey guys...I've been going through hunting for the missing KUID's and there a few I can't seem to find.  They are:

146087:23550
146087:23551
146087:23552
146087:23554

I know they are from the Conti Collection, but every time I d/l the file from trainzitalia, I get a message saying it isn't a valid CDP file.  The file won't work & it's only 1KB in size.

324760:23033
324760:23034

These are AngelC's but they're not on the DLS & the link she provided in an earlier post gives a 404 Error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

AngelC seemed to disappear off the face of the earth, but I have all the kuid's I believe. I am importing the content for my super route (combining NS Reading and R&N full route with my own DEM extensions) into 2010. I even have the Jim Thorpe Station thanks to AngelC who sent it to me.

Hey bud, you already got a polite warning. I'll give you a break here: please make sure that if you get a red message below the 'Post reply' section when replying to a comment made within a thread that you do not comment. This is referred to as "bumping." We don't like "bumps," as a thread that is bumped is out of use, and viewing a new post within it is a waste of time for most of us.

In this situation, you can see that "rwk" is gone from the forums. This situation was taken care of a long time ago.
I don't want you to end up being disrespected here, so you may want to read the forum rules through before anything negative happens...

Hey guys The link for the route does not work it gives me a 404 error

There is no link to any route here and from what I can tell the USLW download page still works in the event that is what you were referring to.  This thread is 10 years old so I am not shocked that every link listed is dead.  Also I wouldn't recommend trying to do anything with the Reading Line (because it's 10 years old!) but if you go to JointedRail.com they have a newer version of the Reading & Northern on their routes page.
