After picking up loads from the nearby strip mine, Mayburry 1322 creeps past the decrepit remains of the Glen Burn breaker, which is currently being scrapped.

Busy Tuesday on the BASR today - Light day otherwise, so other additional power could be spared for the first 70 car test train of coal from the Mayburry to the powerplant on the SBSR; only the first three units were online with the 343 in the lashup as oh sh*t power for the climb up to the interchange, but she wasn't needed.  Dark dismal day for sure.

Easing out of the Mayburry interchange..

Throttle wide open past the Aberdeen shop..

Screaming thru Greensburg at a whopping 6 mph with the throttle in the corner.

Monday's RS-59 also brought in a new toy from the BWED; the lunatic CMO over there wanted to re-engine and drop a cab on their slug as they're in the progress of phasing out the BW9s. (BW9 92 and 93 are already in storage on the BASR in Aberdeen) The slug was dragged from the train this morning and dropped on the shop track in front of the future SW1500 502.  Sister 501 was also dragged into the shop to begin the rebuild and a paint job.

Here's the slug on the shop track after the drill engine broke up the coal train lashup for tomorrow's trains.

Shop update: In the fastest rebuild, repaint, and weathering job of all time, SW1500 501 rolled out of the shop one day after being put in (  :facepalm1: ), and made her first trip on the main with the 553 which also just came out of a 92 day; after issues with one of the geeps arose, the 553 was needed and was quickly ushered out without the application of the white stripe.  There's always next time! With the 501 and 553 out, 552 went in after having some ground relay issues on Tuesday's coal train.

Here's the 501 pre-weathered and idling in front of the shop before the start of the day... this unit will be used almost exclusively as the Aberdeen Yard drill engine (eventually to be joined by the 502 when completed), as well as running west out to Shamokin to grab cars from the SBSR, and east to grab cars from the Mayburry.

Later in the day, Wednesday's RS6 with 58 cars heading east to the Mayburry interchange to drop off the outbound cars from earlier in the week with the 501 second out.

Later in the afternoon on Wednesday after it started to rain a bit, the RS6 crew dropped the two MP15s and brought the 501 out to Greensburg solo to drop off two cars for Smithtown Appliance..

Slow Saturday.. with a bay open after the 501 was completed, a few hours ago the CMO started up the 553 to grab the BWED slug from the shop track and shove it out back of the shop to begin the teardown process.

SBSR's newest unit doing some switching at Hummels Yard across the river from Sunbury, several more units are slated to arrive from the rebuilder soon.

Love that paint scheme broski.

The 501 went back down after having a few ground relay issues, and the 568 came in to fill her spot on the RS7.. here they are rolling through Greensburg to drop off a typical cut of cars to the SBSR on a rainy day.

One from earlier in the day as well.

Knowing this, Grandpa Hayward in his wagon hears the bell from the sole MP15AC and floors it to beat the train across -

Mayburry Northern 1776 leads a manifest train through the town of Laxamaxen, PA on its way up to Creston yard.

Later on the same day we see one of the Mayburry Northern's RS7s, an EMD rebuild of an RS1, brings some empties past the remains of the Glen Burn colliery.

RS7s 903 and 907(ignore the dual 903 numbers. The real 907 skin is still in the paint booth) were hauling 15 loaded coal gons and a small work train from Montrose to the interchange with the BASR at Aberdeen when it stalled out on the Montrose grade and was forced to double the hill.

Here we see the first half of the train pulling through Laxamaxen on its way to the siding at Hawk Junction.

The first half tucked into the siding, the engines run light back to their train.

Finally, the second half of the train rumbles through the town on its way back to the rest of the train.
