Later on in the day we see the same engines bringing an interchange train along with newly leased BWED "McNugget" switcher #92 back to the Montrose shop for testing before the engine begins its new life working the Horsehead Zinc Plant in Aberdeen, PA.

On a chilly December day, I managed to catch C&P RS27 2404 and slug 70T with a transfer headed for the BASR:

I watched them switch for long enough to catch this view of a CSX boxcar:

That box looks much nicer with the better numbers, good stuff broski.

Caught the BASR a few days ago with the recently shopped 552 dragging the stored BWED BW9s to their temporary homes; one en route to the Mayburry and the other for the SBSR.

After dropping the 92 at the Mayburry interchange, the extra crew brings the 91 and a short cut of coal loads to the SBSR.

Havnt screenshotted in awhile so here we go.....
SBSR has received two SD38's which have been delivered in fresh paint. The units lack dynamics so they are assigned exclusively to helper and Sunbury area transfer service, here we see the duo returning from the CP interchange on the Awl St. connector

Horns blaring as the transfer heads up the 1 block stretch of streetrunning on 5th St.

Once the transfer reaches Sunbury Yard the power is cut off to assist a Shamokin bound coal train with a pair of geeps helping out the big ALCO's. Here the units are wide open as they near the formidable 2.7 % grades of Stonnington Hill. Tripped the shutter too soon...

Pushing on the rear

Stonnington Hill conquered at 14 mph!

once the grade levels out at the Plum Creek trestle the helpers will cut off on the fly and return to Sunbury.

Well, I dumped the RS27 and RS1 slug.  Too big.  So far I have an S4 out of the new roster:

Been pretty quiet on the BASR lately, although the 553 came back with a nice P01235 and a touched up paint job after a few weeks out of service.

With B-1 out to play in Aberdeen, 90 has had to work on its own. Showing its wear quite well, it's seen crawling out of Breadwood yard with the Seligman turn.

After switching out its empty boxcars for loads the Seligman turn makes its way further East to the Seligman Psychiatric Center with eight 3-bays of coal to power the compound.  Its a 10mph shove up a 1% grade for about a mile and a half before dumping the loads and coming back down, and there aren't any roads that are anywhere near the line, so photography is very limited.

Coming back West towards Breadwood:
