Here's some more screenies of the area I'm working on.  This is just down the creek from the other pic of the WP main, (with the UP locos) were the SP main crosses the creek.

And one night shot in Stockton by the WP yard. (I'm really liking the way this one turned out.

Well, after much agonizing over the last 2 weeks I've decided to redo this entire route from the base boards on up.  There is some areas I have done on the old route that I just loved the way they turned out but there was many other areas that just needed to be wiped and started over.  But the main deciding factor was that now I own TransDEM. (well actually I've owned it for about 5 months. I just learned how to use it 3 weeks ago)  My original map was produced from 3 different map making programs and it showed.  Now that I'm producing the ground files with TransDEM there is no comparison to what I had and add to the fact that I now have all the track information I need that pertains to my route with the exception to the BART right of way which is not the main focus of my route.  I've already made the ground files for 3 other routes before I decided to redo this route and the end results of those 3 is what made me make this decision.  Hopefully with the better looking map I'll be more inclined to work on my route.

I580 were it crosses the WP and SP tracks.

Looking west at Altamont.

A big thank you to Roland Ziegler for his fantastic route making tool.
