(This includes about 98% of track used in the R&N)

Bridges, tracks for the Reading Line route, "other stuff":

under the "Rails" heading (switch the menu to English).

and...

Trees and foliage:

(The "Puntanen Collection")
 - or if that link to the page doesn't work, follow this:
     http://www.trainzitalia.com/index.php
click on the "Free Downloads" in the box in the upper left hand corner
               click on the "Collection" category
click on the "Roberto Conti Collection"
then navigate to find any kuids you're missing (most are on the 3rd page under the "Tuntanen Collection")

More to come as i find them or people point them out.  :)

The first three are "Minifondales" or mini-backdrops from TrainzItalia (same place as the trees i assume). They are not really crucial.

The second group are two things of AngelC's which haven't reached availability on the DLS yet  :D

kuid:38408:27007 is the TripleCrown roadrailer from VMD (only used once)

and kuid:57230:28612 is a "panchina", or cool little bench, that should also be on TrainzItalia.

Can you give us a clue as to what track you used? I downloaded every track in sight from the link above but no joy on the route. Is it one of the cz trackpack tracks or something else?

Never mind, I found it. Took a spin. looks like a nice route. I'll play on it some more later. Cheers.

I'm missing what I think are 3 bridges, two road & one track, just north of Port Clinton where the rivers form a T.  I downloaded from the sites listed in this thread but I can't find these items.  Can someone point me in the right direction.  Thanks.

They should be the bridges from TPR listed at the top of the thread.

Roon, me again.  Would you give me (us) a brief description of how the various consist would operate on your route.  From where do they originate and where are they going?  I realise that there are few industries so I'm assuming that the trains are mostly passing through the area.  Am I making any sense?  Thanks.

I believe it's mainly coal trains from the mines around Shamokin, Mahanoy City, and bridge traffic between NS at Mehoopany, CP at Scranton, and NS at Reading. Plus locals on the branches. Pottsville, Good Spring, New Philadelphia, Coaldale/Lansford, Temple-Hamburg. Plus regular passenger excursions from Jim Thorpe to Old Penn Haven (and a few times Bridgeport), and Port Clinton to Jim Thorpe in October. Steam locomotive 4-6-2 #425 is coming back after 11 years of inactivity. The R&N was steamless for 11 years.

I can try.

First of all, i can assure everyone that even though the R&N may tout itself as a bridge route, they do not bridge traffic from either NS or CP at the north end of their system to the same railroads at the south end of their system. Number 1; the big railroads wouldn't let them do that, and number 2; their route is so indirect and mountainous that it would be highly inefficient (and you would need to stop and run around your train at Jim Thorpe).

Anyway, here is the current R&N operations that operate over the modeled portion of the R&N as i understand them:

Reading Turn:
  • Daily (except sunday?)
  • Reading to Port Clinton to Tamaqua and back
  • Train is a little bit of everything; both general merchandise and coal), train length may be anywhere between 20 and 100 cars.

Mountain Job:
  • Monday through Friday
  • Tamaqua to East Mahanoy Jct to Mt Carmel Jct. (not modeled)
  • Serves both the local industries and coal mines on its route
  • Usually a smaller train, around 20 cars. Still rates at least two SD40/38's because of the grades.

Jeddo Job:
  • Frequency varies both by time of year (inactive in winter) and amount of coal loadings
  • Tamaqua to Haucks to Hazleton area
  • Was reported as tri-weekly
  • Coal cars to and from the mines up around Hazleton

LC&N/Delano/Extra crew:
  • As needed
  • Serves the industries on the Greenwood running track (the Greenwood coal breaker) and other small branches around Hazleton (not modeled) from Tamaqua.

The R&N also operates its own passenger excursions. Usually these are diesel powered out of Jim Thorpe, but occasionally special trains (particularly the "OCS") will be run out of Port Clinton to various parts of the system.

And of course, these schedules are subject to change (and have changed over the years).

Sorry I haven't gotten back sooner but there are other things in life besides Trainz.  Thanks for the info.  I'll make a copy of this and refer back to it as you continue with your extensions to this route.
