On the MSTS side, here are some shots taken on the soon to be released freeware Fonda, Johnstown & Gloversville route.  It is a shortline in New York state, or at least was, that towards the end of it's life was owned by the DO corp who also owns the NYS&W.  The route is highly detailed with many custom buildings and has a very convincing shortline feel to it.

Yeah i know windows explorer is a pretty unstable program  :-\
Isnt that what trs 04 used too? Totally agree with you i dont know why any one would want to use anything besides good ol stable TRS and CMP  ::)

(sarcasm off)
Paul, excellent shots, i havnt seen too many shortlines for MSTS, most routes just seem to be big mainline runs (though some of those are quite nice) but you have very nicely captured the shortline flavor very well in these shots.  :)

Experimenting with some different texturing and highlighting with the trucks. I think if I tone the white down with the highlights it will look good.

Yeah its looking good, tone down the highlights on the bevel'ed things... and cozmo, get rid of those Joe type wheels.  Flanges are have a extremely defined grove where the lip meet the face.

Overall lookin pretty good!

The route that I posted from earlier has just had it's last bet (9.1) released before the public release of the route.  The following shots were taken on beta 9.0 and in them I do a little what iffing, what-if, instead of letting the line go, DO Corp. got state grants to recondition the line and had it's real estate wing find tenants and buyers for the empty buildings along the line.  With allot of hard work the number of customer's for the line steadily increased from the low 20's back to the 66 the line at one time had.  DO Corp. then made the line an orphaned branch of it's NYS&W and was soon running one round trip from Gloversville to Broadalbin a day instead of on an as needed basis and a morning and an evening turn from Gloversville to Fonda and back.  It also ran a mid day local freight that switches industries in Gloversville and Johnstown and returns to Gloversville yard for the cars to be forwarded to Fonda on the late afternoon turn.

In these shots we pick up the morning Fonda Turn after it has picked up cars from the PC?Conrail interchange and is about to head back north to Gloversville.
